CPP Phase 2 Workshop
The CPP has begun a Design process for Phase 2 of the Program which will be from 2009-2014. The Design aims to provide the program with a sound operational framework built on the values of the partners and on the objectives, structures and processes that have served the program well in its first phase.
As part of the participatory nature of the process, a major consultation workshop will be held with representatives of the Churches, government and AusAID as well as representatives of sectoral areas such as HIV&AIDS, gender, environment. The workshop will take place from 2 - 4 July 2008 at Alexishafen Mission in Madang.
Democratic Governance – Whose Voice?
A forum on community governance for effective development
This forum will bring together indigenous practitioners, academics and donors to explore the field application of approaches to fostering democratic governance. An important feature in promoting change through improved governance is establishing the linkages between institutional strengthening and social accountability. It is also changes in top-down approaches by government agencies that are needed to enable a more conducive environment for the application of social accountability approaches. Given the growing evidence of the causal link between good governance and aid effectiveness, the forum will bring together case studies of government and NGO work to assist in promoting best practice and governance linkages among development practitioners, agencies and academics.
The forum will be held as following:
June 30 - July 1 2008
Sir Peter Barter Auditorium,
Divine Word University,
Madang, Papua New Guinea
9am – 5.30pm
All welcome on the day but early registration encouraged.
